Chipped tooth

Rinse your mouth with water and stem any bleeding by applying a piece of gauze. A cold compress can help reduce swelling.

Lost filling or crown

If you’ve lost a filling, a simple temporary remedy is to stick a piece of sugar-free chewing gum in the hole.
A lost crown can be put back in place and secured with an emergency dental cement to adhesive, but please DO NOT use super-glue!

Abscesses

Rinse your mouth with warm salty water and use a cold compress if you have any swelling.
Take over-the-counter pain relief, such as ibuprofen and paracetamol to make yourself more comfortable (providing you are not allergic to these drugs).
